We're students building a tool for students. We know how personal your notes are. This policy is written in plain English โ no legalese โ because you deserve to actually understand how your data is handled.
When you sign up, we collect your name and email address. As you use FlashDocs, we store the notes, flashcards, and folders you create. We also collect basic usage data (like which features you use) to help us improve the product. We do not collect anything beyond what's needed to run the service.
Your data is used solely to provide and improve FlashDocs. We use your email to send account-related messages (password resets, important updates). We use anonymous usage patterns to understand which features are helpful. We never use your note content to train AI models or for advertising.
FlashDocs does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own purposes. Your notes are private by default. We are students ourselves โ we understand how sensitive your academic work is, and we treat it that way.
Your data is stored securely using Firebase (Google Cloud infrastructure), which uses industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. We use Firebase Authentication to protect your account. Uploaded images are stored in Firebase Storage with access-controlled rules tied to your account.
You own your notes. You can export your content at any time as PDF or Markdown. You can delete your account and all associated data from your settings page. If you need help with deletion or have data-related requests, email us and we'll handle it within 7 days.
We use only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser โ though this will log you out.
FlashDocs is intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will delete the account promptly.
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll notify you by email or with a notice in the app before the changes take effect. Continued use of FlashDocs after that point means you accept the updated policy.
